Shoe Story-Fashion Drawings

Here are some fashion drawings of shoes that I drew from designers like Armani, Dior, Alexander McQueen and Balmain. These are also copies of pictures from fashion magazines and while some of the shoes have a fairly simple design and are quite easy to draw, the most difficult shoe was very complicated! It was by Dior and had a fertility figurine as a heel. It made me realise how much time and effort it should take to make a true fashion drawing of your own design as they have to be exact, otherwise you could end up with the shpoe looking completely different to what you wanted.

Shoe Story-Mood Board

So this is a picture of my mood board that I made for the Artefact Unit. I used lots of jewellery, decorative shoes and clothing as my inspiration as the shop I am designing for is a jewellers. You can also see that I stuck down some pictures of shoe fashion drawings and then next to them the picture of the finished shoe. I thought this would be good to show that a drawing can become reality and that the drawing has to be really accurate in order to create the right shoe. I used pictures from fashion magazines like 'Vogue', 'Elle' and 'Marie Claire' and arranged them so you could see a clear theme.

19th October Campaign Lesson

Today my group were designing a poster and leaflet to raise awareness of our campaign and in Mrs Haythorpe's lesson we were rehearsing our performance to Browick Infant School on the 30th November. We are planning to go there in the morning, do an assembly and then do some workshops to encourage them to donate their old toys to our charities.
My group came up with the idea of using old toys whose owner has outgrown them. The toys are very sad until they hear they are going to be donated to a charity shop and given to someone who really wants them. Because this is aimed at Year 2's it has to be quite simple so we have made it so they will understand. We will see if this campaign strategy has been a success if we receive lots of donations-we must send a letter out to parents first informing them of the need for toys and if we get plenty in then it has been a success.

19th October-Artefact lesson

Today Miss Pinnington talked us through our 4 Learning Outcomes and what we are expected to achieve during the Artefact unit. It was useful to know that we must always update our blogs. We also began to plan our shoes and create mood boards. I'm doing a shoe for Hemstock's Jewellers, so one of my ideas was to use wire, beads and buy lots of cheap jewellery and use them to make and decorate my shoe. This would hopefully be something I could make in the lesson and at home and should be finished in the designated time.

Campaign-Self-Assessment

My campaign group are helping out The Children's Society charity shop in Wymondham and I think the idea of the Campaign unit is really good as I think giving to charity is important and I like to think that we could make a big impact. I'm really trying to contribute to my groups ideas but it is slightly harder for me as I am the only one from my school and most other people have lots of friends in the Diploma. I am also shy so talking to adults that I don't know and maybe giving a primary school assembly sounds quite daunting but I am determimed to do well.

Artefact-Self-Assessment

I am really enjoying working on the Shoe Story project as I have a slight obsession with beautiful shoes! I chose to research Irregular Choice as my shoe brand as I love their designs and they're so unique-you know you won't be walking down the street and see someone with the same pair of shoes as you! I think I could maybe improve the quality of my drawings but I was really pleased when my group got given the jewellers as a shop to design a shoe for-there is so much potential to make something amazing and you have lots of possible materials to use. Overall I'm quite happy with my progress as I now know what is expected.

Fashion Drawings

These are some shoe fashion drawings I found on the Internet when I typed 'fashion drawings-shoes' into Google. The bottom image shows a shoe developing over time, with the first picture being just a shoe last and then the shape and design becomes clear. The second one is someone's drawing of a designer shoe (not sure which designer, possibly a Topshop shoe?). However the firt one looks more like a print or like it's been layered over a seperate piece of paper.
